Monsters having a cute edge is the only thing this series is good for designing, so they might as well make them a big part of the official roster by having a large number of cute mons. Like gastrodon that got posted above, Tyrantisataa, or Chandelure, even the more serious ones should have cute elements to give the pokemon trademark feel. If they get too grim or serious there's no point, every other monster collecting game does it better. Hyderogen and Yveltal are failures because there is not enough cute element in the final evos (of many dragon and fire types). You may as well play SMT or Dinosaur King. In fact, I would prefer if they downplayed combat to be more optional and lets more bonding and contest features. Maybe drop the RPG series entirely, have Junichi make an official announcement passing the reigns of cute monster combat onto the Digimon team who will be forced to make Digi+Poke spinoff medleys, and rather give the entire focus of the Pokemon development team to Pokemon Rancher and app games like Picross or Magikarp Jump, and rent out staff writers to talented fan-fiction writers to improve the quality of peripheral media, sandblasting Pokemon into the world consciousness in the same way that Mickey Mouse has been. I think cute Pokemon is the way forward more so than the dying RPG genre.
