Hello fine gentlemen.
I'm trying to create/modify my first own version of Pokémon FireRed by starting to rebalance all the underpowered mons that need a little push in terms of stats, abilities and movepools, expecially for gen I-II.
So i'm open to ideas: what's some cool enhancements you would do to make x Pokémon more viable from a playthrough/nuzlocke standpoint?

My suggestion is lay out all the Pokemon you're working with, and try to figure out what niche they occupy, and how it can be fleshed out, or how they can get a better niche.

I wouldn't change the typing, it feels like too much of a retcon to me.
Regarding Kingler, give him Waterfall, Earthquake and the 3 elemental punches.
Increse his HP and Sp.Def by 20 each, and reduce his Sp.Attack by 40 to keep the total base stat the same.

Give Ninetales Drought, and have Wonder Guard negate status conditions and passive damage as well. Also, give Ledian more HP.

Make Volt Tackle a tutor move around the seventh gym and let all electric types learn it, as well as Golem as a reference to Alolan Golem. Additionally, give Shuckle Oblivious instead of Sturdy.

Add a few more Bug type moves since they're all nearly useless before Gen 4, or even 5.

Make Poison type a bit more useful by adding in the Fairy type

Give Jumpluff a weaker version of compound eyes (1.2x instead of 1.3x) and add 25 to its defence stat (since cotton guard is a thing we can assume cotton increases def) while taking 5 from attack, sp attack and sp defence so it’s BST ends up at the same 460 it is now
