>>40072484A lot of it is the colors and how cluttered the ddesigns are. Red and bule dont generally go well together if they're both really prominant or have the same sort blcak white value. Something like kyogre works since it's bright light red highlights on a slightly daker blue base. With sword it's pastel soft pink red on soft skyblue, they sorta fight for dominance. Shield has both harsh deep blues and reds fighting each other. On top of this I kinda dont think yellow was a good choice, the gold on sword is also light and dark on shield further adding to this. Shield also just looks overly complex with how the symbols and shield construction look and sword's wings just dont fit the rest of the design. Not sure what sword's red stuff even is either. They're also just too similar to each other to boot.
