If this was California rather than the UK the reception would be different, it would be great.
I'm happy they used the UK as the bases of Galar, it made for a beautiful region.
What would Cali have to offer for Pokemon Beach and Pokemon Bum? Lots of beaches? Lots of Fighting, Water, Fire and Dragon types? There is no variety there, it's too much work to make it a passable region with towns, frozen areas, mountains and beaches.
If they manage to have an imagination then I'll offer these as starters:
1. A Grass/Dragon feathered Velociraptor (a fast attacker with sharp claws, a user of Leaf Blade and Drain Claw (a physical version of Giga Drain)
2. A Fire/Ice Ram (a solid Pokemon that is the user of Rambutt (dual type move of Ice and Fire, Physical) it was said that lost humans and Pokemon in snow storms can be found by this Pokemon, taken to its cave (burned from ice and near lava flow) where they are cared for until it passes.)
3. A Water/Fighting Mantis Shrimp crossed with scythes. (a very strong Pokemon that is used by marine recovery teams as a replacement for Machamp, but also a Master of their own martial arts. A user of Close Combat and Water Whip)
