Where did this idea of "Lillie going to Kanto with Ash" emerge from? She has never been interested in travelling or training and still isn't. Am I missing something?

She could have done that anywhere else (if she truly cared), only reason to specifically go to Kanto was her mom. Also, not like that in the anime.
