>>40079549You're right, and I have a feeling they're taking advantage of that factor. Even similar games (at least ones that I have played) don't exactly hit the niche, though fan games tend to be great
>>40079563Even in those games, there were only.. Two others (I think) that cut out the living dex. Most pokemon were at least coded in to be usable if either cheated in or transferred. People have memories built with some of these pokemon. Perhaps a clutch save on a few fights, a particular design they hold dear, perhaps even family memories if some people regularly traded within their families. Maybe even a gift of a shiny from a loved one who grinded it out for them.
Another way to put it is that while pokemon is at it's core a product they want to sell, meaning they want to hit deadlines, they're willing to rush the game instead of take time and fulfill an image- as Shigeru Miyamoto once said "A delayed game is eventually good, but a rushed game is forever bad."
As for my own opinion- I realize they have to keep on innovating for their games with countless new designs, however I think they should slow down, and perhaps cook up stories with that they currently have, instead of the usual badge collecting we do.
