>>40084962Well, OP, Red and Blue were great games. And they were profitable games. They sold gorillions back when selling gorrilions was unheard of. They began the pokemon series, and had the best designs and simple, lovable gameplay, where all kids had to worry about were picking charmander against Brock, buy drinks to Saffron City guards, waste money on chancey and slot machines, and not wasting their master ball. Oh and reading text. The challenge was just right for children.
You wont find this kind of simple, lovable gameplay in the newer games, and you certainly wont find such high quality designs and thought put into the overall journey. You also wont be able to catch them all, which was possible in Red and Blue via trading, in game glitching and mew event.
So you can expect a subpar experience of a series milked dry of any innovation and effort.
