Galarian Weezing completely embodies everything I hate about leaning so heavily on the real world parallels that it makes features of a Pokemon seem more contrived than natural. Things like Alolan Exeggutor I can understand, that's a change brought about by the effects of the tropical environment. But there's no reason for Weezing to suddenly have a giant-ass smokestack with a top hat brim, and for its gas to conveniently stick to its face like a mustache and beard, other than contrivance and shallow visual puns.
Not only that, but it's arbitrarily got Fairy type thrown on it for seemingly no reason other than Poison/Fairy being a previously unused combination. Nothing about it screams Fairy except for possibly "he's so fancy like a gentlesir xD" Or is it part Fairy because of the tacked on reasoning that "oh he actually REVERSES pollution dude lmao Pokemon are just magic"? It really makes no sense and takes no consideration into a living breathing ecosystem whatsoever. Maybe I'm being autistically butthurt over something inconsequential, and that I should just go along with the joke, but it's just really lame to me.
At this point I wouldn't be surprised if pic related happened. Extremely LOOOONG for teh epick lulz, embodies manmade British concepts that couldn't possibly have been evolved naturally as a response to the environment, and has a HILARIOUS meme face that can be used as a reaction image on social media to virally market the new Pokemon games.
