Anyways the claw machine is a literal slot machine and has to follow gambling regulations. I believe for SK the odds couldn't cost you more than 3x the product on average. But the thing is there's a way to cheat the claw by "knocking" pokemon into the chute that ended up getting piled from previous attempts.
Sometimes though the guy who owns the claw machines will reset the pokemon next to the chute and make it completely odds based again.
