Feature creep is a thing. It's why iTunes was such a fucking trainwreck before it died.

Megas, Z-moves, and dynamax are all variations on the same piece of rules cruft: a limited power buff that you can staple onto one pokemon per battle. Would I prefer that they stopped selling the illusion of change? Sure. But zero or one of these mechanics is way better than three at once.

Less content is fine if it's the content I actually want. I'm not one of those autists who enjoys obsessively collecting useless mons, hitting the Skinner box for shinies, or wanking on how powerful the next crop of legendaries are. The features I want are a diverse meta for multiplayer, more difficulty settings and non-retarded AI for single player, and meaningfully different mons that offer an actual choice of strategies for both. It doesn't look like I'll be getting those, but I never really got them to begin with, yet I'm still here.

Yeah I really dont see a lot of kids into pokemon nowadays. Even in my family there was maybe one or two kids at most who were even into it at one point and I think even they moved on and grew away from it. I still see several like kids at family reunions and stuff playing roblox, fortnite, and other games like that on the other hand.
