After mulling it over this seems like the best team to go with for Olivine's subjugation now that Amanar is dead. Rune Golem and Terminator should be able to handle the two Magnemites without trouble but fucking hell that Steelix will be a doozy. I'll have Enslaver on deck to fight him but failing that I'll just have to try my best with the others. Torgaddon is there as a very last resort to use metronome and pray if things go completely to shit.

Welp, I think a Ditto just managed to hitch itself into my final team in Yellow. Has anyone even used one of these in a Nuzlocke? I can't imagine anything short of bullshitting one in B2W2 or ORAS for Impostor could make it usable.

Been doing a run where I leave the EXP Share on, but can't evolve my team to compensate. I've done this once in OR and once in X, so I decided to do a randomized X run this time. My team is pretty shit and I love it.

The surprising MVP for me so far has been Lola the Nidoran. Ramos had a Sharpedo who, even after suffering an Intimidate from my Shinx, could still 2HKO my whole team with Crunch. I was only able to win because Lola previously set up two layers of Toxic Spikes, and I was able to stall with Meowth's Fake Outs. Then she was the only one who could even dream about taking on his Aromatisse with Moonblast. I'd probably have been dead without her.

You don't get as crazy overlevelled in XY as you do in ORAS, so some of these battles are proving to be a pretty good challenge. If I lose just one member at this point, it could be my downfall.

Dittos are great if you use them right. They copy all stats except for HP regardless of level so if you copy the right mon you can slap the shit out of everything else on a trainer's team.

I forgot to put my badge on the last one. After SEVERAL screwups, we have a new teammate! A little overlap in the flying type, but a water-type will be useful. Aside from losing Snorlax a while ago, I'm still chugging along. About to hit the mountain. Hopefully I can grab something useful. Superfly is still kicking all kinds of booty, but I get concerned about her fragility. I ended the fight with the Winstrate House with Superfly having 4 HP.

Drain Kiss causes graphical errors while battling, but aside from that it's really good. It's pretty much Emerald with Gen 6 rules, all the pokemon up until that point, megas, fairy type, and harder trainer battles.

Yeah, it's a random encounter for the route just outside of Olivine, iirc it's part of Dray's lore in the hack, the idea is that it is super rare because it has the minimum encounter rate and it's the lowest level possible so you can't repel scum to find it, or something of the sort

Oof yeah. So many deaths are par for the course though in these things.

I've gotten off comparatively lightly in comparison to brothers (and possibly sisters) in this thread who have lost over 60 good bros across multiple wipes over even a single game.

(I've yet to nuzlocke a single ROMHack, though--my attempt to do Theta Emerald back in like July of 2018 went horrendously poorly within 5 minutes and I quit.)

Her team was pretty easy since Lynn slapped her mons into bird mush, while the other two would use Charge Beam for that 2x and 4x weakness.

I don't remember his exact team, but I do remember Proton taking out one of my mons with that. I'd honestly just err on the side of caution and have a ghost/rock/steel type handy for any Voltorb/Koffing/Geodude line you come across

5 badges in no evolution Platinum. I might have been a bit cheeky with the Great Marsh, but Carnivine was my first encounter in that segment, and honestly, he's pretty shit right now. It's mostly because his Grass attacks are just Vine Whip and Bullet Seed. I'm also unsure about a Water type. I benched Psyduck now he can't evolve, but I'm probably going to train my (Modest, why) Quagsire. I'm worried about Zac and Jen on Route 210.

Wake seemed scary, but he sent out Floatzel instead of Quagsire after Rotom beat Gyarados, so I got the OHKO, albeit taking very heavy Crunch damage in the process. Then Carnivine cleaned up the quag.

Chimchar is also still on the team, despite being level 37 and lagging. I do have a Ponyta in the box, but having an unevolved Chimchar is more interesting, and I could still potentially get Magmar at the Ironworks if I'm lucky, which I probably won't.

Alright, I am gonna start a parallell leafgreen run in my generation-locke. My options are getting kind of limited. In some ways it's a bad thing, as I am no longer allowed to use the starters as all of them survived previous generation runs, but in ther ways it might be a blessing, as I can guarantee myself an abra or a jynx. no but seriously, just do what the original nuzlocke creator did. Make stick figures. No need to spend a lot of time on each strip, because that shit takes long enough to make just with simple chibi characters and a bit of surface coloring.

In the end, people in the nuzlocke world don't care about the art itself, they care about 3 things:

1. the humor
2. the story
3. the characters
4. whether or not the pokemon are cute

you can get 3/4 of those criteria filled while being shit at drawing. And drawing cute stuff is really easy, just omit a lot of details and give every pokemon big ol round eyes.

just remember that making a single comic can take multiple hours. Doin comics can extend the run with like, a month, depending on whether or not you want to color it, or make the art decent. It can be frustrating to not being able to continue playing, because you'd get too far ahead of where you are with the comics you've made.

So, I've done a randomized run on this file a few times before, and when you randomize by similar strength, it just goes by whatever the Pokémon is currently set to -- not what the Pokémon originally was. So, if it were to generate something slightly stronger but similar enough, it could theoretically keep going up with each randomization if you're unlucky.

This is my only explanation as to why Valerie's Mawile was replaced with a fucking Regice. My Meowth did not see that Curse-boosted Superpower coming. (For the record, Clemont had a Suicune too, but that was dealt with easily thanks to Lotad.)

Gonna have to do the Poké Ball Factory before finding anything at a decent enough level to replace Bill. RIP, dude.

Yo I decided to start a randomized run of Black, meet my starter.

Buck decidedly won against Bianca's Flying Magby and Cheren's Grass Litwick.

Instead of Gas around him, Buck has Magnetism, and those protuberances on his sides serve as wings and claws, hence why he's got those moves from the randomizer.

I might've messed up on the % of good moves I set it to, since Steel Wing and Magnet Bomb are pretty damn strong for this point. If the run is too easy I'll restart and won't fiddle with that part of the randomizer.

I have only one encounter left (Victory Road), so if I lose any mons to the Elite Four I'll have to go with an incomplete team into N/Ghetsis.

I did EV train Terry, Madlet, and Bishop from 0 to 510 EV, as well as EV training Mary and Lynn for whatever EV slots they had left.

Not sure if I should aim for Heatmor or Durant on the Victory Road. If I try to get Heatmor is a guaranteed encounter IIRC, but trying to get Durant might instead get me a Deino, which would not be able to evolve to Hydreigon due to the level cap (54).

No room for error now, any mistakes can mean the run ends. Max repel + full avoiding spinners mode ON.

Bishop crushed Grimsley/Shauntal/Caitlyn pretty damn easily, but Marshall's Throh fucked my ass.

I sent Auntie out first since its the only one not weak to Fighting, nor as frail as Madlet. Unfortunately Throh has a Rock move and I died. Throh then killed Bishop, Lynn, and Mary. Terry managed to kill it as well as Sawk and Conkeldurr, but Mienshao destroyed it.

Madlet managed to win just barely thanks to Aqua Jet, but this leaves me with 1 mon to fight N and Ghetsis. Game over.

I don't really have a written rule about legendaries, but so far in 9 previous runs I fainted any that I encountered since they're pretty broken.

Welp, got a replacement for Meowth, but I maybe wouldn't have chosen Chingling if I knew that it only ever learned Confusion. I can get Psychic in Victory Road, so I might as well tough it out until then...

Gym leader didn't have a legendary this time (Seismitoad, Frosslass, Aggron), but a random trainer in the Gym had a Dialga. Litwick barely survived Roar of Time, then was able to burn on the recharge turn, heal, survive, Hex it on the recharge, then it died to burn. Could have gone very badly if I missed Will-O or if it crit.

Shit, totally forgot I did have another death. I was going to use a Mienfoo instead of Chingling, but it fell in a double battle against a Dragalgea and a Malamar (that I accidentally gave a boost to with Intimidate). Since Dragalgea had Aqua Tail, it seemed like Mienfoo was the safest bet given my team even if it was underlevelled. I was wrong.

The result was a narrow victory, came extremely close to losing Terminator and Rotigus but they pulled through thanks to the Yacha Berries. MVP was Enslaver again as Piloswine, the guy I was actually worried about, got oneshot and the real menace turned out to be that fucking Dewgong. Enslaver and Dewgong then got into a 30+ turn war of attrition until it finally ate a crit Acid before it could rest for the millionth time.

-Wartortle to tank
-Wigglytuff for move diversity and a bit of sponging

I would say my core is Alakazam and Gyarados. Gyarados has good BST, yes, but his diverse movepool puts him at a high status. He can learn Thunder and Fire Blast despite his typing. Gen 1 Gyarados is almost a god among mortals, but anyone can die in a Nuzlocke.
Raticate's definitely great too though. Super Fang is going to be very helpful. Combined with Hyper Fang, and I'm thinking of giving Toxic to him as well.

Norman was a bit of a pain. Surprisingly, the spinda was the biggest problem. Fucking teeter dance almost made grant kill himself 3 times before he killed it. The slaking was easy, as I just swapped Summerall and Grant to minimize its attack and Summerall killed it after 10 minutes. For the vigoroth and and linoone, Bliss kicked the shit out of them with mach punch.

After the tragic loss of General Grant to some double battle bullshit, Winona went okay. Giving March overheat made short work of skarmory and tropius. Everything went fine until we made it to Lance, I had :-) in front thinking they'd be able to sweep Lance, Gyarados went fine, but then came Aerodactyl, which I had forgotten to take into account. "Fine" I thought "I'm sure :-) can tank a Rock Slide, Lapras is a bulky mon". It ended up taking well over 60% of their HP, Sitrus Berry only barely getting us over half HP again "Ok, that's fine, I'm sure-" Flinched. And from there it was all a downhill battle, I had to switch mons a lot to not outright lose mons left and right, and every switch I make is one extra turn for the opponent to fuck me over considering I can't heal damage or status. In the end, Friend Bob just barely managed to kill Lance's Thunder Dragonite by having it miss its Thunders, talk about a pyrrhic victory
This is especially bad since there goes my primary Red counter with Top Model dying, Rhyperior was gonna carry me through the Red fight, but now I'm gonna have to get creative...

Well, Kanto I'm not too worried about, as you say I'm probably gonna be able to solo the fuckin' place with Friend Bob alone, but I don't think Marowak alone is gonna be enough for Red, that Pikachu hits like a fucking nuke thanks to carrying a goddamn Light Ball, on top of the Hail that is constantly falling. The only reason I won in HeartGold was because Gliscor had Roost, otherwise I would've been FUCKED

But I have an idea. I'm gonna use the Voltorb I have, EV train it in Speed and level it up until I'm confident it can outspeed Red's Pikachu, teach it Thief to steal the Light Ball and Rain Dance to get rid of the Hail, then whichever Ground-type I send in will have carte blanche to just set up while Leftovers keep them healthy

My stupid ass didn't think I needed to worry about Tate and Liza because I didn't have any problems with them in Ruby and Sapphire. Unfortunately, this was not the case as every pokemon they had out sped everyone I had and killed by Banette on the first turn. Then I panicked and sent in March, who killed the xatu and got killed by a psychic from the following lunatone. The whole time I was using surf with Washington and hoping for the best. Had to switch him out because the solrock knew solarbeam and shat a brick when I read Lunatone used psychic, only to find out it was on Eisenhower instead of Bliss. After that, I switched Washington back in and spammed surf till everything died, using soda pops and hyper potions to heal in the mean time.

Yup, Iron Tail has 100 Base Power, shit accuracy, but when it hits it hits hard (well, depending on who's using it) And yes, Pikachu does have a shit Attack stat, but Light Ball functions as a Huge Power for both the Attack and Sp Attack stats (at least that's what I've been lead to believe), meaning that it's not the base stat that gets doubled (which would've given Pikachu around 110 Attack) but the effective Attack stat like how it works for Azumarill and Medicham, giving Pikachu an insane power boost by sacrificing its item slot (But still being a complete glass cannon)

Alright, I'm ready to face the league.

Neo the Shinx, my starter, died in Victory Road. My rival whipped out an YVELTAL that Neo switched into and intimidated. It charged up a Sky Attack -- best case scenario. Unfortunately, Sky Attack can flinch -- something I had completely forgotten about. I thought I could survive its next attack but it decided to fucking HYPER BEAM and Neo dropped. Mr. Vile the Tyrunt came in on the recharge turn and hit a crit Rock Tomb to take it out.

I left Victory Road at Lv 78 so I grinded everyone to Lv 80 (and got a Munchlax to the same level). Wish me luck. Every battle is a potential wipe from here.

Nobody died. Notable legendaries in the E4 included a Raikou and a Thunderus-T (which got a surprise Hammer Arm off on Tyrunt, who only lived on like 20). I only used Munchlax once and didn't use Chingling at all. I might as well have not replaced my old members I guess, but ah well.

This has been a fun run. I totally recommend babylockes for anyone who wants to do a Gen 6 or 7 run.

Finally, FINALLY moving on to Gen 5, Gen 4 took forever, but I guess that's the nature of the autismlocke, every subsequent generation is only gonna take longer and longer, but hey, we've made it this far!

Finally finished the Kanto leg of my autismlocke. Left with a newfound respect for Wigglytuff + Clefairy (early availability and massive versatility), Parasect (Spore + Solarbeam) and Hitmonlee (Jump Kick glitch). Aerodactyl and Hitmonchan however are massive jobbers.

Yeah the Gen 5 ones are manageable, Gen 7 feels like you're riding a fun rollercoaster but then it stops and you're forced to watch 5 minutes of a Dora the Explorer episode before you're allowed one more minute of rollercoaster, repeat until game is done

Gym one of Black down, I always find the stuff before Route 3 to be way lame, since you always end up with starter, monkey and two of the three Unova com mons, so the start always feel super same-y, but thankfully it doesn't take long to get some spice in there

Nice job. I've never done it, but I assume Aerodactyl is best in XY because of it's Mega. I used it in Sun because I needed help against Kahili and it was extremely underwhelming. Archeops is so much better and looks cooler as well.

I know that trainer. I've never died to him, but even later in the game when he's got Seaking, it still has Horn Drill. Luckily, it did miss. Same with Wallace's in Ruby. Nearly killed my Lanturn.

I normally don't use either simply because I don't pick the Water starter and I've never been the biggest fan of Umbreon.

Hm, now I dunno who to evolve it to, since I plan on getting the free Kanto starter (Probably Bulbasaur) too.
Unless I get an Electric-type, I'm rolling with Jolteon.

Lenora down, and without any major casualties! Cassandra managed to take down Watchog on her own, two Air Cutters was all it took, and then when Lenora sent out her murder-chipmunk I switched over to Dolly so that neither Cassandra or Samsara had to tank a 140BP Retaliate. After Dolly met an untimely end Samsara was able to avenge her, landing a Razor Shell which only did 40% of Watchog's HP, but procced a Defense drop which secured our victory

Indeed, it didn't even take that long either since there are plenty of long, straight roads in that area, I just started watching some videos and half paid attention to when the movement stopped on my 3DS and changed direction

Usually do it that way with friendship evolutions when possible, in DPPt I've gotten Roselia before the first gym and Lopunny before even leaving Eterna Forest
