>>40124195I can't speak for all types of snails, but I've got African Land Snails and they definitely "get use" to humans and contact, and seem to like being handled and bathed (via running them under a weak, lukewarm tap). I've hand-fed my snails and they always seem a lot more active afterwards.
With most invertebrates though, it's hard to tell if they genuine enjoy it or if they just tolerate it. But they're definitely a much more handleable invertebrate than say, a tarantula or small-to-medium beetle species, as they tend to be a lot less skittish than arachnids and beetles.
I've kept a lot of invertebrates over my life, and so far snails and millipedes tend to be the most chill.
>>40124139They're pretty cute, and often relaxing to watch. They don't require any specialist dietary stuff, aside from cuttlefish bone for calcium and sometimes freeze-dried shrimp if you want to give them a little extra protein, so they're a great beginner pet for someone who wants to get into keeping invertebrates, or wants a pet that can easily survive on left over fruit/veg. They're also pretty study and can live for quite a long time, so.
