>>40125157The primary problem with the culling is that even if you do cut down the Pokemon for the sake of making people try new things, you're still going to see staples like Charizard, Lucario, Mimikyu, Wingull, Magnemite and the like as to not have a repeat of the BW outrage, while obscure Pokemon who never really had a chance to shine won't get that unless they're guaranteed via bias from a developer or staff member between Pokemon's owners and TPC.
On top of that, the actually brand new Pokemon that are the entire point of brand new regions and adventures are lower and lower in amount per generation, and if it's anything like Alola, then most of them sans the obligatory bunch (Regional Bird/Rodent/Bug/Dog/Cat/Psuedo/Fish/etc) will be single-stage Pokemon you have to spend several hours hunting for that aren't even that good in the first place and get severely outclassed by the older Pokemon, even ingame.
