So, will Chadmetal actually have some plot significance in Galar? Or was he like that stupid electro-cat and just a random between-games mon we'll never hear from again?

Chadmetal will have his own Gigantomax. While Misty and Brock have mega pokemon, Ash will have his own giga (which is better than mega) pokemon in the form of Gigamax Chadmetal.

I think so. Melmetal has a connection to a period from 3,000 years ago. Pokemon doesn't have any significance of 3,000 years aside from the Kalosian war with its enemy country. The closest country to Kalos would be Galar, since they are based on France and UK, respectively. Melmetal and Meltan also eat and create synthetic iron, which would be very relevant in an industrial nation such as Galar. And Ohmori made Zygarde more relevant in SM.

Nope, sorry. Dex cut means any continuity between games from now on is fucked. We're never getting connections to other games ever.

Mew doesn't exist in Kalos yet you could transfer it over. Unless they explain it in game like "certain pokemon are banned from Galar" then they're right. Otherwise from now on each game exists in a bubble, since even games in the same gen won't have full compatibility.
