No matter the medium, these guys always end up being disappointing in the narrative. The games hype them up as this grave danger to Alola, yet they end up being little more than a nuisance that the player doesn't even have to deal with til postgame. The anime reduces their threat level even further by making most of them cheesy MOTDs to be dealt with my by Super Sentai knockoffs. And even in the manga, despite posing more danger due to their vast numbers and wrecking Malie City, they usually end up swatted like flies by the main legends and recently the Captains' Z-moves.

The Ultra Beasts are by far the biggest flops of extraterrestrial threats I've seen in a long while.
