Anybody else doing a wait and see for Sword and Shield? I’m not buying the game until at least Home is added if I buy it at all

Yeah, but I still probably won't. Seems like they've already shown off everything significantly different about this gen and none of it has really impressed me. I could be wrong, though, so I'm holding off on my judgements until the games actually come out.
Also if anything I'll just buy Gun, or whatever it'll be called.

I don't even own a switch. I think their choice in off-the-shelf hardware was a mistake and their decisions on how to use that hardware were an even bigger mistake. The problems in SwSh* fall in line with those mistakes and the race-to-the-bottom in terms of resolution and framerate which capped out well below SD with Xenoblade.

*those which aren't bad directorial decisions made to mitigate the consequences of the unsustainable way they've continued the franchise, I mean

Me too, I might wait until after home if it's likely they're gonna do ultra versions or some sort of dlc. Dex and mega cut is too far for me, and I want to see how badly they fuck up qol features

Wait and see is how I do most games, its rare something impresses me enough to get it on release. Spoilers don't ruin things for me and tend to only make me more hype, so I'm generally fine waiting to see what others think of a game and then looking at a bit of no-commentary gameplay before I decide to purchase or not.

So in layman's terms, treating the Switch as only just a handheld and not as the hybrid it is, GF are really not trying their best at all to make the games look good for a TV. They're doing the bare minimum and are allowed to get away with it.

So unless the next console is purely docked like the usual home console, we're never going to get a quality mainline Pokemon game.
Considering the switch's success as both home console and portable, there's no way they'd go back from that.
