Weavile just happens to be naturally resisted by some of the best mons (Greninja and Magearna) and struggles to get past bulky pokemon like toxapex, celestela, heatran, ferrothorn, which can probably comfortably take a hit and OHKO in return. Weavile is as frail as ever but the competition is tougher. Knock off spam is less scary as well since most teams have both a mega and a z move user.
