Well, /vp/? Do you prefer GSC originals or the remakes HGSS? Why?
Also Umbreon or Espeon?

As much as i love the originals, the remakes made Kanto feel more alive and not some empty post-game because there wasnt enough space in the cartridge.

Also Espeon>Umbreon. Psychic with 130SpA is really satisfying in-game.

OP here, I'm also an umbreon Chad, though I love them both since I played colosseum before GSC.
Now that others have given their opinion, I'll say I haven't finished crystal, working on it now, but I've played HG twice and loved it. Crystal feels very comfy to me, but it isn't reaching gen 3 levels of comfy. I do think the remakes fleshing out the towns helps them a lot, but there's something cool about how archaic the original feels.

HGSS have superior mechanics, the QOL options of new gens, used to have online, and are the best Pokemon games ever

HGSS is better.
GSC are great games, but HGSS are mostly faithful adaptations with quality of life changes (like running shoes and being able to see what a move does before you learn it) that push it over the edge.
GSC is comfier, though.
I can't choose between Espeon and Umbreon. They're my top 2 Eeveelutions, but which one I prefer varies from time to time.

HGSS is an example of a well done remake. From updated music and animations to following pokemon, sinjoh ruins, and safari park. It is a real shame that we will likely see another well done remake like HGSS since most zoomers and underage have the attention span of a fruit fly.

GSC. HGSS engine must be slower, forced interactions w/ guide gent, Lyra, Sprout Tower, Kimono succubi, etc, just make it a slog. Gameboy visuals are more attractive and easier to look at than gen 4 sprites, and the coloring was boring. Gen 4 evos for Aipom, Gligar, Yanma, Piloswine and Sneasel ruin the feeling of the Johto dex.
