>>40150070Not really. FR/LG/HG/SS were ported because there was no way to transfer those Pokemon or play them on "modern" hardware. Likewise, in the case of OR/AS, most copies of the GBA game had been gimped with dead batteries.
Had we not gotten LGPE, I would have bet on a FR/LG remake incorporating stuff like the phys/spe split and mega evolutions..... But LGPE wasn't what I had in mind :(.
Nonetheless the DS family is still being sold and the Gen 4 games are playable on them, so at this point every mainline gen/region aside from Orre has some representation on a modern console.
While I think a proper Platinum remake would be great (especially since you can argue Gen IV/V is gimped due to online being down), I would bet my money on very, very shitty Let's Go Johto games. Kanto will be cut completely, the "difficulty" will be toned down, and Celebi will only be obtainable via a 1 time use mystery gift if you buy a special bundle that includes some shitty Great Ball controller.
