>>40153191I'd say it depends on which Pokemon game we're talking about. The series has always been targeted at younger audiences, but up through the DS era it was more of a "family series" than a "kid's series", where there was a surprising breadth and depth of content to sink your teeth into if you were older.
I have a hard time believing any socially well-adjusted adults enjoy the newer games, since they swung waaaay more to a younger audience specifically. Attacking the newer games is dumb and pointless since it's like attacking a children's cartoon for not having a good story, but there's also no reason for anyone over the age of 12 to be playing something like Sun & Moon, etc. unless they're saddled to the franchise and can't accept the fact it's not for them so continue to play the games anyway and hate them.
