>>40157378I've only played the first 2 gens of PMD but had an amazing time with them. I'd say start with Red/Blue Rescue Team if you want to appreciate Explorers of Time/Darkness/Sky some more, amongst other things. Differences between them are Red = GBA, Blue = DS and some version exclusive mons like Plusle (Red only) and Minun (Blue only). Explorers of Time & Darkness had more drastic version exclusives in comparison (plot relevant Pokemon) so if you're not sure which one to pick, check the exclusives. Unfortunately I don't remember how much T&D differ from Sky so dunno if you could just skip them entirely.
Obviously can't say much about Gates to Infinity but I remember it to be kind of a drag gameplay-wise from what I saw online. So maybe look at some game footage first to decide if it's worth your time at all, wouldn't recommend it as your first PMD experience though.
