I really feel like Turner took a lot of design inspiration for Poipole and Naganadel from Vemmon and Snatchmon. I am very okay with it though.

Possibly. I don't know where or how James Turner gets his inspiration, but I do acknowledge there is a loose connection between these two aesthetically and thematically. Might just be a coincidence though.

Well it also has to do with a mysterious secret organization using them. You can draw a lot of parallels between the AOA and Aether/URS.

There is also the visor eye, the alienlike appearance, and the elongated head with rear attachment in Naganadel's case. Naganadel's mouth also is somewhat reminiscent of the vertical mouth that these two have. Naganadel also shares the possession of a hand with 3 digits with the two, and Poipole has a tail much like theirs.
