I did it at some point, I feel like it actually makes your pokemon worse than giving them a garbled natural spread. 0 bulk means going to the pokemon center every time you face a trainer with 2 pokemon, and 0 offense means something like umbreon just takes forever to do what a shitty mixed spread would accomplish, while taking half as much damage. it' not normal, and it's not even an especially good idea.

I rotate my team a lot so once I’m midway through the game and have money I’ll buy 10 Carbos and Calcium/Protein but let the RNG do the rest.

I did in XY and ORAS. I looked for pokemon with specific natures and gave them specifix EVs for their builds. Looking for them and training them really helped with the immersion in the game. It made me feel like an actual trainer. The only downside it made the game much less challenging.

I did in XY when super training came out.
Got a shiny garde with really good stats.
Generally I don't give a shit though.
I feel like a mixed spread provides enough to work with for the main campaign.
Really, all ya gotta do is be a few levels higher and you're good.

I don't do it as to stop and fight many Rattata for the EVs, but if my pokemon just leveled up and I am against an Excadrill for example, I will send out a physical attacker and not a special attacker.

I used a beartic in white 2 that kept getting one shot even with neutral type damage. So I looked up defense increasing ev shit and grinded for a hour.
