We didn't start getting outright feminine starters until gen 6. Before then people could easily see them as either male or female or just male. Just look at how Blaziken gets smut for both female and male versions of it.

GF themselves said they always have one Cool, one Serious, and one Funny from 3 onward. Cool are Blaziken, Torterra, Samurott, Greninja, and Incineroar. Typically designed to look very appealing to japanese kids. Serious are Sceptile, Empoleon, Serperior, Chesnaught, and Decidueye. Typically designed to look more calm and focused or trained. Funny are Swampert, Infernape, Emboar, Delphox, and Primarina. Designed to stand out or be cartoonish more, or designed off of something playful or trickster like.

Look at it, it screams fighting. The face the Fighting Gym Leader has her cloths design simular to it. The trailer has it pull a Blaziken. Fire/Fighting looks possible.

Sobble: Water/Psychic it usually sits in a meditation pose, a pose linked to Psychics, it may learn Poison moves

Grookey: is tricky but Dark completes the triangle, Rock was suggested by Affleck. Dark would be better for it as it would nerf Sobble 3.
