>>40174894Semantics aside, this kid could have been interpreted as any of those things due to how more socially liberal the entire world is now than it was decades ago. More people are starting to realize and accept that LGBT+ and non-binary people exist. Eventually that will spill over to Japan, and parts of it has already spilled over, so guessing that Go could have been another rep of that isn't impossible.
With that said, this is Japan, a socially conservative country, so I doubt they would allow significant non-binary or trans representation in a major export anyway, at least not now.
