exactly. it has to deal with making a pokemon big AND maintain a new form., then it has to deal with extra life and new augmented moves but it can only hold the form for a few turns before it's over.

Mega evolving only has to change its form, but nothing else

They can still keep the red turds to indicate how many turns are left are something. It isn't really necessary to keep the red highlight especially if already understand the mechanic. And its also not nice to the eyes. Hopefully they let us turn it off
