Now what of those that would want to transfer an old mon in so that they could have a team of both new friends and old? With more mons there's more chance at variety. More people will have different adventures, and some may even replay the adventure with completely new friends. Now this is probably a somewhat autistic thing I do, but I barely started to breed a single mon. I transfer it to the new game and think of it as a gift from your father, the champion of, (previous region). I may not be able to do that again, because fuck having pokemon in a pokemon game, right?
