Just wait a month or two after these games come out.
Everyone will start nitpicking and shitting on these games like they did with every single previous entry, and some will definitely find something disappointing in the 18 gyms.
When that glamour runs out, people are going to see these games for what they are.

not saying slimming down the dex was a good idea
