There's a subtle beauty to her character. She's accepting of her mortality in a less than ideal world, contrasting Lysandre who is obsessed with the perfect reality. She chooses to lead a life of empathy and compassion through her career, and wants to understand people who might be considered 'beneath her'. Where a-lot of the wealthy folks in Kalos are spoiled rotten (just talk to the people in the Battle Chateau), Diantha has a certain humility to her.
