On launch I'll tend to fly through games, but I've realized by playing through older gens again that doing that in any game as your first playthrough is a major disservice to the developers. When I buy a game, I want to enjoy it as long as I can, I don't want to just fly through it for the sake of saying I beat it. Plus, you might miss out on a lot of side details that you were at least intended to check out. I hope when Sword/Shield come out I don't feel the need to run through the games as fast as possible.

I used to impose a 24h limit on myself when I was younger but now I spend a lot more time on completing the Pokedex. For Omega Ruby, it took me around 90h to complete the regional dex before I went to challenge the Elite 4.

i just catch what i want wherever and beat the shit out of trainers whenever i feel underleveled.

will admit i was scared of Kalos being a super short game so i went all in on sucking the routes dry of any sort of "fun"
think i beat the league at about 60hrs

as for most runs it takes me like 20ish hours when _enjoying_ a playthrough.

i want to say "same" but ever since B2W2 i literally haven't found anything to come back to after beating the league which is an absolute shame.
Because up to that point i was used to just rush through and work on getting fun teams so i could beat shit kids online and/or beat the battle facilities

Now it's like i have to fucking savour the playthrough as long as it lasts because once you're the champion the game is over and out.

I don't know why but typically Pokemon games take me 9 days to finish. Happened with alpha sapphire, soulsilver, and x. That was back when I had a lot more time though, so I'm not sure
