I’m done with this franchise.

Exp share is really the last straw.

I skipped gen 5 because I grew out of Pokémon.

Came back for gen 6 with the 3ds era now I think I’m absolutely done for good.

I'm fine with dexit but the forced exp share is a fucking no for me.
I always defended SM and USUM's difficulty because set without exp share really does make them the hardest games in the franchise, and if you're a stupid baby you can just turn the thing on and steamroll over the game.

I pretty much stick around for the new designs myself. Dexit was really disappointing and the Exp Share thing really doesn't bother me, but in principle you should be able to turn it off.

I skipped gen 6 because I didn't like what I saw, gave ORAS a try.
Turned my brain off the whole game with how braindead easy it got. Got Mad at the middle finger to battle frontier.
Gave gen 7 a try because I like UBs and golisopod Got tired of how the game treated me like I was some kanto obsessed ADHD riddled retard and the boring story only got interesting by the third island.
I don't think I'm even gonna bother with gen 8 or the DP remakes.
I know when I'm not welcome and I think this is the message GF is trying to convey.

You sound almost like me. I got bored but finished ORAS. Tried the SuMo demo and was bored to tears and waited to see how people thought about it. When it turned out bad, I decided to wait for US/UM and they were only marginally better if that so I avoided it too.
I have no faith in Sword and Shield now and this is coming from a guy who has played every Gen before 7.

You might think OP is overreacting, but he's not. It's not about the fact you don't have to grind, but how unintelligent game freak treats the player, to the point where they cannot even have the option for any kind of self imposed challenge.
Between this, the culling, and LGPE existing - they are really testing how much they can take away from the player. And you all defend and approve of it. This is merely the beginning.

It's not that Pokemon games were ever truly hard, but switching Pokemon to level them was literally one of the few engaging aspects of a regular playthrough; it was one of the only things that actually made you feel like a fucking Pokemon trainer. I liked being able to focus on the growth of a single team member as needed. This. When I was a kid, I would just overlevel one Pokemon and use the Exp share to get a couple of other guys up to par. When I came back to the series in D/P, I did it the proper way, and it felt great to fight gym leaders with Pokemon that were 5 levels below theirs, but still beat them by playing type advantages and using good strategies. When I got to the elite 4, I think I still had a couple of Pokemon that were like 13 levels below Cynthia's highest, and it was challenging and rewarding to finally beat her.

This isnt the beginning, it started with XY and has been going on for a while now. Gamefreak already knows what they can and can't do. No matter how outraged you guys act. They're not going to care, even if it isn't you, people are gonna buy the games anyways. And keep in mind it was never confirmed if you can turn the exp share off so you guys may just be freaking out over nothing

Lots of rpgs do this now to keep people's attention spans. And the receptive is positive since it cuts out grinding and doesn't force you to use characters you dislike.
You guys just spaz over any type of change in this series while other fanbases embrace qol improvements.
What options you have doesn't matter, it's how many you have that matters. This fanbase is obsessed with quantity.
I'd be more worried they didn't balance the game, but I'm not gonna bitch like it isn't before I know for sure.

What is up with these guys? When I realized that game freak had fucked up for a second time with ORAS I stopped buying their new games. Doesn't mean I stopped playing altogether(only nuzlockes), but there is such a thing as restraint. Is there some new meme that I am missing out on, because nobody in their right mind would ever suggest that game freak are making "irresistible products" here.
