I don't understand fairy as a type. Other types can basically be classified into three categories.
There are types that describe what the pokémon produces (water, fire, electricity, etc...).
There are those who describe what pokémon is (grass, dragon, rock, etc...).
There are types who describe what the pokémon does (Fighting pokémons fights, Psychic pokémons have mental powers, etc...).

But what about the fairy? One might think that it is is in the 2nd category but no one can give an exact definition of what a fairy is. Why is Granbull a fairy? And mimikyu? And why are the lake guardians, which are based on elves or this type of mythological creature, not fairies? What about Victini?
This type could be in the 3rd category as "pokémons that do magic" but what exactly is magic? Is it not magic to throw flames, twist spoons with your mind or cause earthquakes? What is specific to magic in the pokémon universe? And in that case, why is Delphox, who is literally a magician, not a fairy type?

If we look at fairy attacks, we realize that they can be classified into 3 categories: attacks related to nature (Nature's Madness, Fleur Cannon, Flower Shield...). Those related to seduction (Draining Kiss, Disarming Voive, Charm...). And those related to "magic" and the moon (Moonlight, Moonblast, Dazzling Gleam...). With a strong emphasis on care and protection.
There is no connection between any of this. It shows that there is no exact definition of what magic is in the pokémon universe: it heals, it seduces, it is related to the moon and nature, it is cute, it shines and it sparkles. WTF does it have to do with magic?
Tldr: explain the fairy type to me.
