>>40209731I think Electrode is great because its grin adds a layer of character to its mimicry, while I think Voltorb is just lame and unappealing. I love most of the Gen 5 designs and you managed to mention two of the only ones I don't. That's just how tastes are.
I also used to find the Gen 1 dex mostly lame and unappealing, but over time it's become one of my top three along with 5 and 3's. Still prefer most of the "Gen 5 versions of Gen 1 Pokemon" to the originals, but in general I just love being able to compare/contrast them and see how they complement each other. Both of the lines in pic related are favourites of mine.
