>>40223038I almost think so. The only things I still respect are the soundtracks.
The designs have finally lost their magic: I no longer see incredibly intriguing creatures.
The gameplay I've finally realized to be much shallower that it could have been, with so much unrealized potential.
And the community for me is nonexistent. Fine taste is absurdly rare to come by, and it's to the point now where most people love the garbage of this series and underrate the quality; they have no mind for real criticism either. I don't even like /vp/ posters, especially the ones who defend SWSH.
I kind of think it made me a better thinker through the battling, by needing to optimize 'mons, build teams, and strategically anticipate my opponents' moves before they made them.
But looking back over it all now, it really doesn't seem like it was worth it after all. 17-18 years with it and what do I have to show? I can't even have fun playing the games anymore. And there's nobody to pass onto everything I know about this series. It's just dead.
