This time it didn't look much like a Ponyta to me. Looked like some ghostly figure, but not a horse. Also, on the split second after Impidimp leaves the way, it looked like it was dragging itself on the ground, not galloping or anything like that.

I can't listen to it right now, were there hoof sounds again?

It was ponyta walking sort of with its back turned to you which is why you're seeing what you thought you saw. You're actually looking over its shoulder and seeing the back-right half of its face as it comes and then its tail when it leaves.

I'm baffled that no one even thought about it being a pre-evo for ponyta. I mean the galopping pokemon which I presume is galarian ponyta has the furr as well but not all the way to the tip, which makes me think that rapidash will have the whole flame

What's weird is that this horse Pokemon's eyes look more like Dragonair's eyes more than Ponyta.

Dragonair turning into some kind of Pegasus would be cool. I mean its normal evo doesn't make much sense either. Having the same Pokemon evolve into the two biggest names in fantasy: dragons and unicorns. Could be cool.
