>>40243244I liked Nihilego when it was first revealed and thought the concept was cool although by the time SM released and I realized Megas weren't getting any new stuff in Gen 7 I concluded that UBs were gonna be the same and so far that seems to be the case. I think they're cool on concept, completely foreign Pokemon that live in worlds unlike our own, I wish that maybe we'd just gotten one Ultra World, the Ultra Deep Sea and had a bunch of UBs from that world to really help build the environment of these worlds because currently you get this tiny snippet that's interesting for a few minutes at most and then just becomes a sort of one-trick pony sort of affair.
I think UBs make sense for Gen VII given they introduced Regional Variants as well which are kind of like two sides of the same coin, they're both interpretations of Pokemon from far away places, in the UBs case they're truly alien while in the Regional Variants case they adapt to the environment they're introduced into.
