I always think its dumb when people want to plan their full team before we know everything. Especially this time when they're barely revealing anything.

Last games to include Hydreigon in the regional 'dex made it entirely possible to have one just before the League. Hell, you could straight-up catch it fully evolved in the wild in those games.
We've also seen wild Tyranitar in the Wild Area, who knows what kind of high level beatsticks are available in these games.

Diantha's team ranges from level 64 to level 68 in XY. USUM all but hands you a level 65 super-legendary right before the league, to say nothing of the numerous level 60 Pokemon you could bumble into on the way to said super-legend's previous fight. And Max Raid battles could presumably be a way to catch fully-evolved Pokemon like Hydreigon right off the bat.

Do you even play these games?

Even so, badges will stop the player from using a high leveled mon caught in Max Raids, so you can't sweep the first 6 gyms with that mon.

By giving you high leveled wild mons you get the chance to level up your team or catch stronger mons, it's up to you how you play that determines difficulty.

I tend to keep my final team that was in the final gym battle, I don't use Legendary Pokemon either so it doesn't get too easy.

Won't 2 of your starters having boosted trade exp annoy you? The starter you actually chose will constantly fall behind levelwise because even if you lead with it the others will still get more exp than it from the auto exp share.

I'm very wary after my first XY playthrough the Japanese Honedge I got wondertraded ended up 20 levels above Diantha while the rest of my team was in the mid sixties like they were supposed to be.

The overall expshare system seems different now though. It looks like every monster with a level higher than whoever won the battle will get significantly less EXP depending on how high their level is. So overleveled monsters are in less danger of staying ahead of the curve than in past games.

At the moment to me, most of these are being boxed as some don't evolve and the Starter evo typings have not been released, that's what I'm waiting for as well, I want to use my bro Aegislash in my run, never used it before in a run, just level up to evolve for the Dex Entries.
