But neglected in competitive. it’s losing its spot even in GO with Conkeldurr’s arrival. If Machamp were a true shillmon, it would have gotten a Mega, an Alola regional form, a special Z move, etc

I'm convinced he's getting a Gigantamax form. The other gen 1 trademons have been covered by gimmicks and he's appeared in quite a lot of promotional stuff for gen 8 including trailers and merch.

Machamp is aesthetically and conceptually THE face of fighting type. But it’s not because it was shoved in everybody’s face regularly or given borderline broken movesets the same way starters or Lucario are. Whatever popularity Machamp is enjoying now, it’s not because of shilling but more likely from its own merit of longtime fans content with its B-level popularity

As opposed to Gengar and Alakazam? Eevee and its evolutions? Even Golem got a regional form. Ditto has countless merch copying other pokemon. Sure Machamp may be given some attention here and there. But as a full blown shillmon? It just doesn’t compare to the likes of Lucario, Gardevoir, Charizard, Blaziken, Greninja, etc.
