Even though Meltan was introduced ages ago for Pokemon Go, does Gamefreak consider Meltan/Melmetal to be a promotional treat that hypes people up for the new gen? Are they really that out of touch?

Obviously not. Meltan was created for Pokemon Go and LGPE, not for Gen 8. It already fulfilled its purpose.

It is weird that the anime has no Gen 8 sneak peek Pokemon. In past gens they either appared in the anime proper or got movies, but no such thing happened for any Gen 8 Pokemon.

I vaguely remember Masuda saying he was upset about how much they dropped for XY and SM so SS seems to be answering that with as little information as possible. It's awkward since that's not how Pokemon has ever operated and it makes for an awful hype season but I think ultimately it will make for a better release period.

FE3H was being torn apart to hell and back before it's release and now people are pushing that it's the Switch's GOTY and a most own despite having the presentation and polish of a wet cow turd. You really can't call it until the game is out.

They picked the worst possible time to start being conservative with information pre-release, because now everybody's desperate for anything to convince them that the games will actually be worth a damn and Game Freak are giving them nothing.

The SM anime still had event Pokemon who appeared in movies that featured Ash. They just didn't feature the standard anime continuity.

The exact opposite is true. We're 40 days away and we haven't seen a good bulk of the map, there are records and record stores in trailers and screenshots we don't know anything about, the game has no e4 yet the last city is a fourth of the map and has multiple large scale facilities, we haven't seen 20 Pokemon yet, cities and towns are all massive yet we know nothing about any of them, and every time a new feature is slightly teased they barely give us anything on it.

That's because there's nothing to show. You're reading into more than is there because you don't want to believe these games will be just as barren and devoid of content as all other Gamefreak games.

Except we know bow Masuda was specifically in charge of bringing back ild features. Which we can see with the possible return of BW's ferris wheel, and the records potentially being for a GBsound-like device. There's a lot of room for potential content in these games you just don't want to see it.

That's not possible. We haven't even seen most of the gym leaders dude, nor any of the starter evos. By your logic there will only be 3 gym leaders and the starters won't evolve becaues Gamefreak hasn't shown it off.
