>>40262579That's what companies would like you to think but it's apathy that actually let's them get away with shit.
Most people are weak. They can't deal with negativity. Sustained negativity will drive people away. If you as someone is negative can keep up the drive then you will drive others who aren't away.
I've personally already been told several dozen times by people that they no longer care about the game at all despite not seeing a problem because of people like me.
Now, sure, there are some who have dropped off who were negative because they couldn't take it either but... At least for me, my love for the series and subsequent wanting it to be the best it can be (which means taking longer and bringing everything back not cutting more and more to release faster and faster) surpasses how bad the complaining makes me feel.
Especially considering I've been highly depressed since I was about 12. Just continuing to live has given me a high tolerance for negative feelings.
I'll stop complaining when I am dead and not before because I know for a fact it causes damage.
That's why the shills want you to stop. They're feeling bad and they want to stop feeling that way which they can't do as long as you complain.
Just look at the google trends for every game, by the way. Every Gen prior to 5 had the rating go up over time closer to release. Gen 8 thus far had a huge spike day one, a larger spike at Dexit, and then barely perceptible spikes during trailer releases.
By your logic we'd likely see higher stats than Gen 4. Not even close. It's not even as high as Gen 7.
