The stream wasn't great, but hanging out in the sticky with /vp/ was honestly pretty fun, no lie. It got weird and real when the mods went to sleep. That was worth it for me.

Fan game is Pokemon Mystery Universe, they just recently added Shiny Pokemon that you can recruit so that's pretty cool. As for Rivals of Aether I know it's on PC and I'm pretty sure it's on XBOX & PS4 too. It's a platform fighting game inspired by smash bros, but some mechanics are different (for example, there are no shields & you can't grab ledges) also a lot of the characters have ways to interact with the stage. Orcane who is my favorite character can leave a puddle of water on the stage, which he can detonate into bubbles to attack the opponent or teleport to.

Pretty good, I'm thinking of doing a giftmon only run but I'm not sure if I'll stick to it. So far I have Quilava, Togetic, Sudowoodo, Wooper, Flaaffy, and Nidoran. I've also been thinking of playing through Kalos again, but I don't want to delete my X save file so I'll probably get a used copy of Y if I ever do decide to play.

That's what I did with X, and that team sounds pretty comfortable honestly. I've been pushing myself to use Pokemon I've never used before lately. I might do an X Wonderlocke.

Are there any pokemon games specifically designed for comfy? They're all about combat and fighting the bad guys. I'd love more of a virtual pet approach, or maybe a pokemon spin on stardew.

It's been alright. I got a public holiday coming up, so I'll be back at studying on Tuesday instead. I only decided to catch the first and last hours of the livestream, but it actually was kind of nice hanging out on the stickied thread and just talking to everyone.
I've been back and forth with playing games. I'm playing Emerald right at this moment trying get everyone levelled up for the E4. I found a Shiny Lairon along the way, which is cool. Outside of Pokemon, I'm playing Untitled Goose Game, Crash 1, Mario World and Yume Nikki.

Honestly, the sticky is what made the stream for me. Turned a mediocre experience into a wild ride.

There's something strangely comfy about clay pokemon models in real settings like beaches or forests. This was on a pokemon card in 2000, maybe some of you will like it.

The problem is that unlike the suite of tools for working with the mainline games, there aren't many at all (or even much research) for PMD, let alone the other spinoffs. The second game in the Ruby Destiny trio is kind of like a PMD game, there's also Pokemon Mystery Universe. Someone made a kaizo version of Red Rescue Team but that's basically the same game with more grind.

I'm cutting a mon up for the next brokemon thread. I watched the stream for about 10 minutes, saw a horse and that's about it. Playing some Smash and Super Kirby Clash. Can't pull up my favourite comfy Pokemon because I already cut it to pieces.

MMOs can be fun if they're not too serious. It's just an opportunity to play with friends or explore a sandbox with your favorites. A minmax pokemon MMO would suck, but I'd be down to hang out in the world for a while.

I’m okay I guess. Been working on getting over and moving on from my most recent ex girlfriend, which sucks and depresses me. But other than that life is going decently I guess. Mostly been playing Emerald, Fire Emblem Three Houses (second run), Link’s Awakening remake, Overwatch, Bloodborne, and Smash over the last couple weeks. I checked out the stream for a bit, it was total shit. Not saying they needed to keep revealing new shit, but they should’ve played some good comfy music and had some basic animations and interactions of old Pokémon hanging out really frequently, even if it were just some Caterpie crawling around and cuddling to a soothing melody.

You'd think it would be doable, but apparently some of the things in Red Rescue (like Portraits) are hardcoded, so it's a whole ordeal. I'm sure with enough ingenuity and effort we could find a way to work around things like that, but since they don't have the full brunt of the romhackers' attentions the way the mainline games do, things progress much more slowly in that realm. It's a shame, because I think if we got them opened up, the PMD games are ripe for the romhacking. They offer so much room to tell stories, I feel.

MMOs don't need to be about raids or PVP. Meadow was really nice and is technically an MMO. You just explored the world as various animals (badgers, birds, deer etc) and interacted using vocalisations and emotes. I can see a pokemon game about existing in the world being great, even if it's just the standard RPG approach but with lots of players. There's a ton of unique approaches to a shared pokemon experience that they could try though.

You don't need to minmax in PMU, you can do it but it's not really something that needs to be done. Quite a few people use NFEs and you don't need to worry about getting Vitamins and shit to increase your stats.

It's not really an MMO in the traditional sense, but some people run Pixelmon Minecraft servers and play together. I think /vp/ has one going right now, again -- I've never joined one, but they seem fun. Just journeying around in a world everyone builds with your Pokemon... I like the idea, but I'm too nervous to try. I feel like I'd log in, have no idea what to do, and mess something up.

Kind of sad honestly, broke up with my boyfriend earlier tonight... I'm getting by alright though I suppose.

I didn't drop by the stream but i watched the pinned thread for it which was kind of fun.

I'm currently playing Heartgold. I'm using cheats to force it to be open-worlded which has been fun so far. I walk through walls to get past barriers so I can get out of doing Elm's Errand for example since my character doesn't have a pokedex.
I'm using one other cheat to change my sprite to a Schoolboy NPC. I'm roleplaying as a kid who's off school for the summer.
He's challenging as many gyms as he can before schools back in session.
He's friends with the Notch Eared Pichu, met her on the way to Goldenrod.

On a brighter note I'm glad you like my character! I'm surprised he seems romhack worthy, I could ramble about him forever and ever.

So far his team is Notch Eared Pichu (Max), Pikachu Coloured Pichu (Rudy), Quagsire (Harley), and Zubat (Dewey).
I'm hoping he can make it to the league, I have cute ideas for it. Mostly thinking of his dad showing up to cheer him on then driving him home during the credits.
He's 9 right now, decided I wanted him to be almost trainer age but not quite.
The other two slots in his team are gonna be Growlithe and probably Snover? Snovers cause it reminds him of home. He moved to Johto from Sinnoh 2 years back.

I watched a little bit of the stream, about the first 30 minutes and the last hour of it. I could still hear the jingling after it closed. I thought it was a good idea in concept, just needed more shit going on, and preferably not at a time with so much contention and so many expectations.
Trying to play NG+ Code Vein without the AI partner. It's uh, harder than expected, and I'm not even at the butterfly boss yet. I figured I could just parry through everything now that I'm familiar with all the enemies but neglected the fact that there are multiple enemies everywhere.

That plaza had fun minigames. I miss fun minigames in general, like those and the Pokéathlon. Mantine Surfing was just okay, but very inferior to minigames in Gen 4. Festival Plaza "games" are so terrible that calling them minigames is insulting.

I got warned multiple times once the mods woke up, it was less than great. Fun night though.

B2W2 were a lot of fun, and I think they'd be good to try if you never gave. They have enough to keep them interesting compared to BW, and also Burgh's revamped Gym is one of my favorites just for how pretty it is.

Yeah, super fun thread, even if the stream was a bit underwhelming albeit a cool idea.
I'm not really one to go back and play older games much but might check it out, especially now that it's been almost 10 years since BW came out and thus since I played them, so have forgotten a good amount... Best story by far though, especially with N at the end.

Same here, I remember SM removed even the Pokemon Amie minigames, and I still do not understand why. I miss the Poketch watch too, and all the little side-things like the berry blending minigame in RSE. I wish we could get things like that again.

i honestly hope that these streams become at least a yearly thing. yeah we shitposted (one of my favorites is that someone said that the morelull rain reminded them of vietnam) and i do think there should have been more activity, the sticky was really comfy.
