Alola didn't get movies because it was the anniversary and because the past few flopped

The legendaries definitely would have benefited from a movie though; Nebby showed up, evolved into Solgaleo, and left in the span of 10 episodes, and Lunala and Necrozma only got a 4 episode arc

You're correct about Galar though

Then it wouldn't be CANON. The movies are non-canon.
Appearing in a 4 episode arc at least makes the encounter canon.
Ash also got a trap companion for "Galar" anime.
