So we're all in agreement that the Affleck leak is real, which means Pikachu is getting a chunky, retro Gigantamax form.

What does that mean for Raichu? Will it lose the Gigantamax if the Pikachu evolves? Or will Raichu also get some Gigantamax form?

It's pretty much guaranteed Pikachu is going to get something.

Just like they're "time" and "animations" and "balance" reasons are bullshit for the dex cut. You know Pikachu and Charizard, and Mewtwo, and Lucario, and Eevee etc. are basically guaranteed to appear in every game and it has nothing to do with any of those reasons.

The first thing they had to do to make that bullshit believable was made sure none of those appeared whatsoever in Sword and Shield.

Would still be stupid to cut anything but at least you'd know they're not lying and just doing it for the money knowing it'll sell anyway.

Maybe Gorochu will happen (everything can do Dmax some can just also Gmax) but Pikachu will definitely get one.

Nothing. Gamefreak hates default Raichu and wishes it never existed. It is literally the redheaded stepchild of Pokemon.

It isn't just that, Pikachu is smaller and cuter as a result. It's easier to market than a big fat Raichu. The idea of having a Pikachu ride on your shoulder is something that appeals to kids, Raichu is too big for that.
