Would you buy SWSH if you knew they were going to make a better one with all the pokemon in next year? And if you didn't know and they did end up doing that, how would you feel that you bought the beta test?

If the 2020 title is going to be an enhanced Ultra edition, no.

Yes. What matters is my enjoyment now. The games aren't so expensive that it is more worthwhile to wait an entire year just to play an improved version. Not to mention that the improvements may be lost on me if I haven't played the originals first. It could also be a SM situation where the original games have advantages over the improved versions.

Nah, even if they pull a gen 6 and try to skip to the next thing asap I can just buy them used later if I decide I want to play. Plenty of other games I'm looking forward to.

This. I'm already planning on not buying it because I feel like GF will do something like this down the line.

And if they don't make an updated version like what happened with XY, then I can buy it cheap and used if I really want to use a couple of the new mons.
