Might sound odd for being uncommon but does anyone else really like butterfree

I remembered liking it ever since seeing it on the Teachy TV tutorials on FRLG, Yeah seriously

It's my mom's favorite, actually. She LOVES Butterfree a lot, mainly because of the farewell episode in the anime and "i-it was his first Pokemon!" (really does get her teary eyed)
Nowadays she likes a lot of mons, mainly the tiny mythicals like Victini and Manaphy, plus other cuties like Zorua, but her ultimate n1 is always Butterfree.

i really like it, gets some good moves too (bug buzz, quiver dance, ect), but just doesn't have the stats to use them.

Yes, it’s really cute and I have its plush. I actually never really cared for it that much before until I looked at it for the first time in a while and realized “shit, this is actually adorable”. Also had fun playing with it in amie.

Yes, because its early moveset is really good with flying, psychic and bug SE'ing 6 types and being resisted by nothing but steel, plus having a compound eyes X-spore user, and stats being on the high end compared to unevolved pokemon. Very satisfying for something you can get early on. I only sometimes like Vivillon better because of hurricane and draining kiss.

My X playthrough is blessed by a really great Butterfree and a really great Vivillon that I alternate between. My only gripe is that these caterpillar-coccoon-butterfly lines don't get egg moves.

It was one of my favorites as a kid. Not really now as an adult, but I still think it's very cute. It has one of my favorite color palettes of any Pokemon and I want to run a Quiver Dance set on it one day

butterfree is my bro. I used it to get a nab at rayquaza and a few other super tough pokemon it had no business going up against, jot tomention overleveling it and chessing the entire game with it in fire red(level 71 by elite 4, thanks to how fast it levels up)

I love butterfree, even if it's only real niche is using a nearly 100% sleep powder via compound eyes and not being the slowest thing in the world while it's at it, a poor man's spore user that can't fight back or tank a hit, but you got to take what you can

I love using one in Crystal every other run, the sprite is god tier and the moveset is decent enough for the time to not drop it.

I think it's a really popular mon that just doesn't get a lot of voiced appreciation nowadays because he's too well known already.

Same! My first game was FireRed, and the first time I saw Butterfree was on the Teachy TV. I love its back sprite in those games

Butterfree is one of the cutest Pokémon I know, and absolutely in my top 3 favorites of all time

I always have to actively stop myself from using one in FR whenever I replay it. Compound Eyes Sleep Powder is really useful in game, and it's moveset lets it solo Bruno pretty effortlessly later.

I love it. I think I was really charmed by the concept of the caterpillar-to-butterfly metamorphosis being an evolution and found the design pretty, and being able to get it early was a bonus. Guess the anime could've played a role too but not as much, since from what I remember I somehow always missed the pink Butterfree episode whenever it was on TV for a couple years, and so the biggest impression of it the show would've made on me before that would've been as just one of the Pokémon on Ash's team.

Still like using one if I play a Gen 1/2 game. The Psychic moves are neat too.
