It's not that, I was 17 when I began playing so it's not a matter of "you had to be young". The point is that most Sinnohfetuses absolutely refuse to accept differing opinions and it always shows in these threads.

Yeah, you always see shit flinging, but that's the point, it's always people fighting "equally", so to say. Torterra is just ground Venusaur
Empoleon is just metal Blastoise
and Infernape is just a less good Blaziken

While the new types for the grass and water types were nice, they didn't change the general design or battle style of each. Torterra, just like Venusaur was slow and good for set ups, Empoleon, like Blastoise, was bulky and had some decent special attack moves, and Infernape, like Blaziken, was just hit hard and fast.

Since this was the generation to introduce the physical/special split, you'd think they'd play that up and get weird with it. Maybe the grass type was the attacker and beef up leaf blade. Maybe the fire type was the slow set up type and beef up will-o-wisp and fire spin.

But nah, the most boring rehash of pretty much any generation.
