90% of those were unusable even WITH a mega evolution because there was no reason to ever waste the mega slot on them.

This entire ""mechanic"" was a fucking waste of time and they should have just normally buffed the pokemon instead. But of course, that doesn't sell toys, so they went with the flashy gimmick that easily pleases retards instead.

I've actually had success with non mega steelix, I've used unburden sceptile with various terrain seeds and it's done ok, and, I shit you not, camerupt is decent because it completely stops magearna.
most of these are much worse than OU's behemoths but I wouldn't call any but like banette, mawile, beedrill, pidgeot, altaria, lopunny, glalie, and ampharos truly unusably bad. I realize that that's about half the list though.

A lot of these will get a gigantamax form anyway. Venasaur, Charizard, Blastoise, khangaskan, steelix, pidgeot, aeroeactyl and aggron will all have a high chance of getting one.

Yes, it is. Megas made bad Pokemon good. Just because some good Pokemon got them too doesn't fucking change that, it just means giving those Pokemon megas was a mistake. Megas should have been limited to only shitmons getting them.

Megas made bad Pokemon better but still inferior to cancer that also got mega forms. Gigantamax forms will do the same thing.

No they fucking won't. EVERYTHING can Gigantamax or Dynamax, but you can only do it ONCE. The most powerful thing about it is that it's unpredictable and you can use it STRATEGICALLY. If some retard has a fucking Charizard on his team, then you KNOW he is going to save his Max for that and that puts him at a severe disadvantage as you can then play around it.

Megas did not work this way. Megas were always fucking obvious and you always used them ASAP. There was zero penalty to bringing a Mawile as opposed to an objectively better mega because it was entirely dependent on the rest of your team which one made sense.

Do you seriously have problems with comprehension? Maxing does not take an item slot and EVERY POKEMON CAN USE IT. If all your good shit can use it and you can plan it strategically, why the fuck would you bring a Charizard and willingly handicap yourself to Gigantamax it by giving your opponent that information in team preview? That is retarded. This is nothing like Mega Evolution.

Venusaur is still fine on Sunny Day/Drought teams
Blastoise can still Rapid Spin in lower tiers
Houdoom and Absol are still setup sweepers, just not as good
Swampert can still be a bulky water type with few weaknesses (only Grass and Freeze Dry)
Sharpedo does fine with a Life orb or Z-Crystal
Aerodactyl is still a fast Stealth rocker
Steelix is still usable, but only barely

Those ones still have uses, however limited. The rest are all fucked though, lol. At least Mawile's always been fun in PU/NU.

That's exactly the problem, they won't buff them. Very rarely does a Pokemon get buffed and if they do it's usually something shit like +10 to a random stat or they gained an egg move or some shit. It isn't enough to fix anyone who needs it.

Chlorophyll Venusaur was one of the most important and greatest Pokemon during before megas.
And it's still very relevant in non-mega meta. Heck, it was like number 11 in VGC19 Sun Season
