Even Delphox isn't that hard to envision as a male. I have more trouble with Primarina because it already involves tones of pink (which admittedly began as early as Popplio) and the over usage of frills, mermaid/pop singer appendages, etc along with a very frail, slim figure (slim not as in a regular sea lion, but mimicking the mermaid/selkie proportions as well, giving it a bottle neck).
It's sad because I wanted to see the singing concept in a more neutral light rather than just feminized just because it's more marketable for that kind of crowd and impinge the "performing" role yet again to another pokemon while making it feminine. Hearing Grookey's evo rumors involving music, I'm now wondering if they won't make it feminine looking now despite being a gorilla.
