>>40293804It'd be a huge improvement. Open world has negative connotations to some people, but it doesn't need to be endless fields like BOTW. You could also do stuff like have beauty contests, a full frontier, or a more fleshed out berry growing system with poffins or pokeblocks. Pokemon has never really felt like an RPG, so those little roleplay opportunities would be cool for some people. You could play a bug trainer and enter the bug contests every week, or focus on gardening with your grass team. Maybe they have some stuff for other types too like weekly dojo competitions for fighting types. That amount of content sounds like way too much work, but it's really not compared to what other developers are capable of. We've just gotten used to the bare minimum from Gamefreak, they've been making the same game for 20 years.
