Granted, the animations were already pre-made from whatever other game they reskinned for it, but the point is that they actually took the time to rig the models properly for those animations in a manner that makes sense - with some weird outliers like Gengar pulling a guitar out of nowhere (which still isn't TOO out of place for Gengar to do if we're taking his anime personality in to account). These Pokemon actually feel like they have life, personality, and like they're actual creatures. Pokemon in the mainline series may as well be highly advanced robot companions with how little they express themselves.
